Baby's First Toy

After Chloe’s first play date with Ava and Lorenzo, I thought it might be time to get her an infant-specific toy. I started looking at options online and really liked…

The wooden Anelina Rattle Teething Ring and the Tulpino Rattle, both by the German toy maker Selecta. I loved their simple design and materials. Unfortunately, neither of these seem to be available locally, so…

Instead, Daddy brought home a Rombino Rattle Ring (0+months). I was delighted to see her grasp the toy after I placed it in her hand, and then and bring it up to her mouth all by herself! Two other toys that Daddy couldn’t resist was a Chick-ita (not shown) and a Ballino. The Chick-ita sounds like a mini maraca and the Ballino is made of beech wood, with ecological, water-based, non-toxic lacquer. It is one of those really great structural toys that looks good just sitting on a desk – fun for adults too. ๐Ÿ™‚

“Babies learn soon to comprehend the world around them: holding, observing, putting everything in their mouths รขโ‚ฌโ€œ A baby explores their surroundings with all their senses…”

  1. We used to have the rombino rattle too! It is now lost… gone to that play area in the sky along with 5 pacifiers and several other toys… but all those that are fun to play with and get taken everywhere are often lost, so that’s a vote of confidence in our family! I hope Chloe likes it too.

  2. What I like about these toys are colors and that they look so plain. As you wrote – fun for adults too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. those are really colourful looking toys!

  6. Hello. This is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here.

  7. Hi – the menu bar you are asking about is just part of my theme, which is called K2. I think it only works with WordPress blogs, but you can check it out by scrolling down to the very bottom of my blog and clicking on “K2” where it says “Powered by WordPress and K2” at the bottom. Good luck!
